Chapter 29: Bittersweet Chocolate |
|
“Ah…So nice to be home,” said Park Jungsu as he collapsed onto his sofa in the living room.
Sora chuckled and asked, “What have you been doing all day?” She placed her flowers and chocolates onto the coffee table and sat next to him.
He sighed and said, “I had meetings all day…” as he laid his head onto her shoulders. “And those flowers are really hurting my eyes,” he whined.
“You’re tired from just having meetings today? I think those flowers are easy on the eyes, so I don’t know why you’re complaining.”
Park Jungsu removed his head from Sora’s shoulders and looked at her. “Yah! I had to do a lot of errands for these different meetings and it’s tiring,” he defended.
Sora placed her hand on his leg and suggested, “Arasso, then you should hurry up and go take a shower.”
A mischievous smile appeared on his face and Sora noticed it right away.
“What now?” Sora asked, knowing that Park Jungsu has something on his mind.
“Oh, nothing…” he said as he held her hand and gently stroking it with his thumb.
“Who are you trying to kid here? Clearly you’re thinking of something cheeky,” suggested Sora as she pointed out his ploy.
He chuckled as he has been figured out, but still denied it, “Aniya, it‘s nothing. I’ll go take a shower now.” He got up from the sofa and walked his way to the stairs. Just before heading up, he decided to tell her what he had in mind, “Oh! Umm…Sora-ah, if you want, you can join me in the shower too. I don’t mind at all.”
“Yah! Hurry up and go take a shower on your own!” yelled Sora as she shook her head with a smile.
From afar, he said, “Arasso! Your loss! Oh and make sure those flowers are gone when I’m back!”
“Will you just hurry and go take a shower already!” she ordered! But the thought of his firm body that she had seen yesterday was enough to get her burning up. To cool herself, she went into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water.
When she got back to the living room, she sat back down on the sofa and looked at the flowers on the coffee table.
“Hmm…if they’re not from Park Jungsu, then who are they from?” she wondered to herself as she took the bouquet into her hands and started examining it. She placed the flowers back onto the coffee table and fell back to the sofa. “Who would send flowers without leaving a name?”
…
When Park Jungsu was done with his shower, he headed back downstairs into the living room and found Sora asleep on the sofa. It seemed she had fallen asleep while pondering about the flowers.
He smiled as he stared at her. She looked beautiful when she’s asleep. He sat next to her with his head resting in his own hand while admiring her beauty. With his other hand, he brushed her hair back and softly stroked her face with his finger.
Sensing his touch, her eyes slowly opened and found him staring at her.
“Did I wake you up?” he asked in the gentlest voice.
She smiled and shook her head. “Aniya…how long have I been sleeping like this?” she asked, unaware of the time.
“Oh…not that long, just the whole night,” he said.
Sora’s eyes quickly widened as she perked up. “Are you serious? The whole night? I have to get ready for work then!” she worryingly said as she jumped up from her seat.
Park Jungsu quickly grabbed hold of her hand and pulled her back down as he burst into laughter. “Aniya! I was just kidding! Look at the time now. It’s just been half an hour. Seems like someone is more exhausted than me,” he explained.
She looked up at the clock on his wall and saw that it’s just quarter to nine in the evening. “Omo…thank goodness… Yah! You scared me for a moment!” she complained as she lightly hit him on the arm.
“Ehh…stop trying to take advantage of these strong arms of mine,” said Park Jungsu as he flexed his arms.
Sora snorted and said, “Wah…Who would want to take advantage of you?”
Park Jungsu smirked and suggested, “I don’t know, maybe someone who is in love me?”
“Eh…you’re really egoistic, do you know that Park Jungsu?” she said as she stood up from the sofa.
He got up right before her and wrapped his arms around her as he leaned in close with a smirk. “Am I now? But clearly you’re not denying that you’re in love with me, so that means I’m right.”
They both gazed into each other’s eyes, stirring up the feelings within. Then he began to lean in and gently kissed Sora on her soft lips. Sora reciprocated and pulled his body closer to hers. Both gradually began to intensify the kiss.
He moved away from her lips down to her neck, caressing her with his hot lips. She could feel his hot breath glazing over her sensitive skin. The fresh scent from his shower filled her nostrils, making her burning inside even more.
Park Jungsu enjoyed her silky smooth skin beneath his lips and he wanted to caress her all over, like how he did last night. However, he knew that they should take things slow and doesn’t want to give her an impression that he just wants to make love to her. So he pulled away and said, “I think it’s time for you to go take a shower. You must be exhausted as well. Now, hurry and go freshen up.”
Sora looked at him and smile. She was happy to know that he was caring for her and he wasn’t someone who would force her into doing something that she doesn’t want. She complied and went upstairs.
After coming out of the shower, she went downstairs to find Park Jungsu. She heard the sounds from the living room and saw him watching television on the sofa with his feet on the coffee table while munching on some snacks. As she entered the living room, she noticed her flowers were removed from the table and that he was actually snacking on her box of chocolates.
Her eyes quickly widened as she asked, “Yah! Where are my flowers and where did you get that box of chocolates from?”
Without looking away from the television, he answered, “I threw away those horrible flowers and I was hungry so I opened the box of chocolates that was next to the flowers.”
“Yah! Give them back! How can you open other people’s things without asking?” she grumbled as she walked up to him, trying to get the chocolates back.
“Well I told you already that I don’t want those flowers in my house. You should also thank me for helping you eat these awful tasting chocolates from that Minho guy, they have a weird taste to them,” Park Jungsu said shamelessly as he defended himself.
“Fine, then I guess I will have to move back to my own place tomorrow so that some people wouldn’t mess around with other people’s things!” declared Sora.
Her statement quickly caught his attention. “Wait! What did you just say? What do you mean move back?” he asked, wanting to clarify.
“I mean I will move back to my own home tomorrow, first thing in the morning. The people from the management office called today saying that my place is all fixed up and I can either move back in today or tomorrow,” explained Sora as she grabbed the empty box of chocolates from Park Jungsu, who was dumbfound for a moment.
“Aniya! You just moved in not so long ago and didn’t they say they’ll take a while to fix things up over at your place?” he opposed, following Sora into the kitchen as she threw away the empty chocolate box.
“Well, the repairmen are probably very efficient. Aish! I still don’t understand how you can eat a full box of chocolates in one go and you didn’t even leave me any.”
“Yah! Stop talking about the chocolates when we’re talking about something more serious. You can’t move back just because I threw away those flowers,” argued Park Jungsu as he continued to follow behind her.
Sora turned around, almost bumping into him, “Well, I have to move back sooner or later. You should be happy that I’m moving back tomorrow, instead of tonight.”
Park Jungsu embraced her tightly into his arms and whined like a kid, “But I don’t want you to go.”
Sora chuckled as she patted his back. “Oppa, it’s not like we’re not going to see each other just because I’m moving back to my own home. So stop the whining or else I’ll move back right now,” she said while pulled away from his embrace.
“Eh…but…” before he could continue his whining, Sora shushed him with a kiss on the lips.
“No more buts, you can continue with your variety show while I’m going to head off to bed,” said Sora as she began walking away.
Park Jungsu quickly switched off the television and caught up with her. Before she reached the staircase, he swiftly lifted her off her feet and into his arms.
“What are you doing? Put me down,” she instantly demanded.
He carried her up the stairs and answered in a deep voice. “What do you think I’m doing? I’m escorting my Baby Princess to bed.”
Sora put her arms around his neck and complimented, “Well what a nice gentleman you are.”
“Didn’t you know already? I am a gentleman,” he said shamelessly.
After they got into the bedroom, the two went to bed in each other’s embrace. For one thing, Park Jungsu held her tightly in his arms for one last night before she moves back to her own place tomorrow.
***
The next day, Park Jungsu watched Sora pack up her things. Although she hasn’t left yet, he’s already missing her.
“Do you really have to move back? I mean, you can leave some clothes here just in case you want to stay over sometime,” he asked her with his arms crossed and leaning against the wall as he watched her.
“Oh come on, oppa. Now I’m starting to wonder how you were like before you met me,” said Sora as she packed the last bit of her belongings. “There we go! I’m done with packing,” she announced.
“Are you really sure about this?”
“Gosh! Park Jungsu! You’re even more nagging than my parents,” she said as she zipped up her luggage. “One more thing, don’t touch that drawer there.”
Park Jungsu looked at where she was addressing to and questioned, “Waeyo? That’s my drawer though.”
“Not anymore it’s not. From now on, that is my personal drawer. So don’t touch any of my things inside!” she declared.
After a few seconds, he finally understood what she meant, which eventually lighted up a smile on his face. “Arasso, I won’t touch that drawer, but what’s inside?” he asked.
She told him that it was none of his business. “I’m going to come over and check once in a while to see if anything is missing in that drawer while I’m not here. So you better not touch it.”
Park Jungsu nodded and agreed to keep his promise. At least now he knows that she’ll be coming over sometimes.
“Here, let me get that for you,” he said as he grabbed her luggage from her hands.
Both headed outside and Park Jungsu placed the luggage in the trunk of Sora’s car. After closing the trunk door, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his stomach. His expression changed as he pressed onto the car for a bit of support.
“Oppa, are you alright?” Sora asked when she noticed Park Jungsu grabbing hold of his abdomen.
The pain subsided after a few seconds. “Ne…I’m alright. It’s just a little stomach pain, that’s all.”
“Are you sure? Do you need to go see a doctor?” she asked worriedly.
“Aniya! I’m not going to see a doctor for just a minor stomach pain. Besides, I have a lot of work to do today at the office so I can’t tag along,” he explained.
Sora grunted and said, “Alright, well if you’re not feeling well, then you should take a day off and rest, arasso?”
He nodded as he opened the car door for her. “Arasso, now hurry up and get in,” he instructed.
She got inside her car and Park Jungsu signalled her to roll down her window.
Sora stuck her head out and said, “Ne?”
When she had her head out, he quickly leaned in and gave her a quick peck on the lips and said, “Remember to drive safely, arasso?”
Her cheeks were burning after his cheeky move. “Arasso, you take care as well,” she replied as she turned on her car.
He smiled as he tapped on her car top, signalling her to head off and so she did.

Shortly after sending Sora off, Park Jungsu got ready and drove off to work. When he reached his floor, Miranda informed him of his schedule for the day as they walked to his office. Just before reaching to his office door, the sharp pain came again and he quickly grabbed onto Miranda’s arm.
“President! Are you alright?” Miranda asked as she helped him balanced.
His face was paler than before and the pain lasted longer than this morning. “I’m okay, it’s just a little stomach pain. Who did you say we have a meeting with?” he asked as the pain slowly subsided again.
“We have a meeting with Director Oh. President, are you sure you’re alright? Your face looks pale,” said Miranda.
Park Jungsu nodded. “Yeah. Can you get me some painkillers and water, please?” he said as he entered his office and sat at his desk.
Miranda nodded as she went off to get some medicine.
He loosens up his neck tie to cool off as he was sweating. When Miranda came back with the painkillers, he took two tablets and flushed them down with water.
“Ugh! It tastes awful!” he complained as he handed back the glass of water to Miranda.
“President, do you want me to cancel all the meetings for today? You seem like you’re in a lot of pain,” suggested Miranda, who looked worried when she saw the paleness on his face.
He waved his hand, indicating there isn’t any need to do so. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine after taking these bitter-tasting painkillers,” he said while fixing up his neck tie again.
Since he told Miranda that there was no need to cancel his appointments for the day, they both head off for his meetings.
It seemed the painkillers kicked in after half an hour and it stopped the pain long enough to get him through two meetings outside the company. Shortly after the two meetings, he headed back to the office for an internal management meeting with his staff.
During his ride back, he received an SNS message from Sora:
OPPA, HOW ARE YOU FEELING, RIGHT NOW?
ARE YOU STILL GETTING STOMACH PAIN?
HOW ABOUT I COOK YOU SOMETHING FOR DINNER?
He smiled after reading her message and replied:
NE, YOUR OPPA IS ALRIGHT.
DON’T WORRY ABOUT MY STOMACH PAIN.
ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO COOK ME SOMETHING?
IT WON’T GIVE ME A STOMACH ACHE, WILL IT? KKKK
WHEN SHOULD I COME OVER TONIGHT?
After a few seconds, he received the returned message from Sora:
8:00PM AT MY PLACE.
CALL ME WHEN YOU’RE ABOUT TO COME UP, ARASSO?
<3 <3 <3
To her message, he replied saying that he’ll see her at her place tonight. Then he turned to Miranda and asked, “I don’t have any meetings after seven tonight, right?”
Miranda shook her head and said, “Nope, you’ll be done after this last meeting back at the office. Why? Do you have a date with Kang Sora-ssi tonight?”
The happy smile on his face already gave Miranda the answer to her question.
“Ne, so that’s why if there’s any meeting after seven, I’ll need you to cancel it for me, but good thing there isn’t any,” he replied and they both continued their way back to the office.
…
Back at Sora’s place, she had already unpacked all her belongings and she felt great being back at home. Since she invited Park Jungsu over for dinner, she had to think of the menu for tonight. Although she rarely cooks, there was one thing she was good at making – Ramen. But she knew she can cook that for him since he had a bit of a stomach pain this morning, so she had to think of something healthier and easy for his stomach to digest.
After spending a few minutes thinking, she still had no idea what to make and so she decided to call her mother for assistance.
Her mother suggested that she could make him some porridge and a bit of braised meat. Knowing how her daughter can’t cook that well, she suggested the safest option for her so that she won’t burn down the building.
Shortly after what her mother suggested, she went out to buy the ingredients for tonight’s dinner.
…
While Park Jungsu was in his meeting, the pain from his stomach started again and this time it was much more painful than before. He asked for a fifteen-minute break so that he could take some painkillers again. When he stood up, the pain was extremely agonizing that he couldn’t endure it anymore and collapsed onto the floor. Everyone in the room was shocked and they gathered around him while Miranda asked everyone to back away.
“President! Are you alright? Can you hear me?” Miranda asked frantically while shoving Park Jungsu, who was lying unconscious on the conference room floor. Miranda then quickly called for an ambulance.
Once the ambulance arrived, they took him away and sent him to the hospital.
…
When Sora got home from her grocery shopping, she began to prepare all the ingredients. While she was busy preparing the food, she got a phone call from Minho.
“Oh Minho-ssi, hello,” she answered on the phone.
“Hi Sora, I thought I should give you a call since I haven’t seen you after the charity event and I want to know how you’re doing,” he said to her on the phone.
“Mianhe Minho-ssi. I was just so busy with work, a whole pile of files and documents were stacked up on my desk and I had to clear some of them off. Oh, by the way, I almost forgot to thank you for the beautiful flowers and chocolates you sent me yesterday. They’re very pretty.”
“Huh? But Sora, I didn’t send you any flowers or chocolates yesterday. I was out of town and just came back this morning. I mean if I was to send them, I would have given them to you in person to show my appreciation,” said Minho over the phone.
“Huh? Are you sure it wasn’t you, Minho-ssi? I mean, it says your name in the name card.”
“Yes, I’m sure it wasn’t me.”
“Umm…Minho-ssi, I have something to do now, I’ll talk to you later. Bye!” said Sora over the phone and quickly hung up right after.
It was then when Sora started find things a little suspicious, especially when the sender of those flowers and chocolates used Minho’s name when he wasn’t even the sender.
As some bad feelings started to stir up inside of her, she accidently cut her herself with the knife. At that moment, her phone rang again. Only this time, it was Miranda who was calling and she quickly answered the call.
“Sora-ssi, President Park collapsed at the office and he’s at the hospital right now,” Miranda informed Sora over the phone.
Sora was in a state of shock for a short moment. Her eyes widened as her heart began to race. “What do you mean he collapsed? Is he alright, right now?” she asked anxiously.
“I’m not sure. The doctors are still with him. Omo, more emergency staff went inside. I’ll talk to you later and try to hurry over, Sora-ssi!” Miranda said over the phone with worry in her voice.
Sora’s heart raced like never before as she quickly stopped everything she was doing and rushed out of her home to the hospital.
Her heart raced like never before. She was worried about his condition and was in a hurry to head over as quickly as she can.

Well, I guess this chapter didn't take that long to do since it's not that long. kkk
Thank you everyone for waiting and I hope that despite the short length of this chapter, you all enjoyed it. I hope I was able to add a bit of suspense to this chapter, but...as you all know I'm not really that good in writing stories. So please understand if I wasn't able to deliver the suspense in the story that I have intended to incorporate. LOL
Anyways, I guess that's all I have to say for now. Once again, thank you all for waiting patiently for my fanfic updates and all the support you all have showed by visiting this website. You all are DAEBAK!
Take care everyone!
